FAQ

YAG is a pulsed laser, ideal for spot welding and precision repair. It releases high energy in a short pulse with minimal heat effect and low deformation, making it suitable for tiny weld points and sensitive materials such as electronic sensors and micro steel joints.

In contrast, continuous Fiber lasers are better for long weld seams, mass production welding, and deep penetration processes. Using the wrong type may lead to porosity, burn-through, or incomplete welds.

For applications like package repair and precision module reinforcement, YAG is the safer and more stable choice. For aluminum housings, door panels, or other long seam joints, Fiber laser welding is recommended.

YAG lasers concentrate energy with extremely short heat input, reducing thermal diffusion and preventing material annealing. They are suitable for:

  • Dissimilar material joints (e.g., aluminum + copper, steel + nickel)
  • Micro components (e.g., sensor pins, fuse housings, medical module shells)
  • Sealing applications (e.g., hermetic modules, cover plate sealing, lens metal frame welding)

These applications demand high welding precision and thermal stability. For continuous deep welding, long seams, or thick plates, we recommend the Fiber Automatic Welding Machine for higher efficiency.

  • Use inert gas protection (such as argon) to prevent oxidation and inclusions
  • Keep the environment dry and dust-free to avoid lens contamination and power loss
  • Regularly calibrate the laser path and focusing module to maintain consistent accuracy

Optional features such as a microscope positioning module, red-light preview system, and CCD monitoring interface can further enhance stability and weld quality.

YAG machines are especially suitable for jewelry repair, detailed mould repair, and electronic contact reinforcement, making them valuable for customers needing high energy density and flexible operation.
