Yao Hung Technology Co., Ltd. is honored to have been invited to join the Ministry of Education’s industry-academia collaboration initiative. Together with professors and students from Feng Chia University, we co-designed a hands-on laser application curriculum tailored to practical industrial needs.
Turning Production Lines into Classrooms: Knowledge That Doesn’t Stop at the Page
Did you know that in many vocational systems abroad, professors are required to periodically return to industry to refresh their technical knowledge? This ensures that what they teach aligns with the latest industry developments. In Taiwan, such mechanisms are still in development. That’s why we took the initiative to open up our factory and share our resources—building a bridge between classrooms and production lines.

Learning by Doing: Firsthand Experience with Laser Technology
In this course, students entered our factory, watched real-time instructional videos, and operated actual industrial-grade laser machines. They gained hands-on insight into real-world applications of laser technology in areas such as:
- Laser Engraving: More than just flat designs, students explored 3D relief engraving and curved surfaces—pushing the boundaries of design and functionality.
- Laser Cleaning: A contactless rust and surface removal method that’s clean, fast, and consumable-free—ideal for precision parts and mold refurbishment.
- Laser Welding: Capable of bonding not only identical but also dissimilar materials and airtight structures—crucial for electronics and medical device manufacturing.
- Laser Heat Treatment: Using localized laser heating to alter metal properties, enhancing hardness and fatigue strength for optimized performance.
- Microfluidic Applications: Laser micromachining enables micro-scale channels for biomedical chips and diagnostic components.
These laser applications were once mere slides in a lecture—or perhaps never even mentioned. But when students stepped into our factory, they didn’t just see machines—they saw an entire world of applications unfold. They began asking questions, experimenting, observing, and understanding—not for a test, but to connect with the future in front of them.
